Sumner New Zealand
Bombing Birds Banished.
A Canterbury resident who lives in the top apartment of a coastal building had a real problem. Black -backed sea gulls used his roof as a bombing range. Large shells gathered at low tide from the nearby beach
Would be dropped and broken on the roof. Partly eaten and left to rot. Needless to say this was a real problem. Noise, pollution heavy shells and debris filled spouting.
Now the cure. A small electronic D.C powered device emits adjustable distress calls on a timed basis in daylight only. An adjacent balloon type "Evil Eye" appears to the birds to be the source of the distress calls.
NOT ONE SHELL HAS BEEN DROPPED THE ROOF SINCE INSTALLATION.
The Big Birds avoid the roof at all times.
